Easy Ways To Get Links To Your Site – The Todd Malicoat Interview

Posted on Jan 16, 2009 - 1:38 AM PST

Todd Malicoat, an expert at growing traffic online, says a key to getting more people to your site is generating links to it. So I asked him to teach us how to get links.

Here are some of easy methods we talked about:

Do interviews – When people interview you, they link to your site. Get your blogger friends to interview you. Ask interview sites, like LuckyStartups.com, to interview you about your business. Do as many as you can. Each interview means another link to your site.

Hide your identity – Most online communities are against self-promtion. Many online marketers create accounts using a pseudonym. They use those accounts to join conversations–and occassionally promote your business.

Ask your friends – Ask your friends to link to your site. Often a simple email is all it takes.

We also talked about some of these trickier options:

Link farms – How companies are paying teams of people to email web sites requests for links.

Link buying – Ways to buy links that will help you rise in Google’s search results.
