We have been used to receiving all things "free" for so long, that we don't see the value of paying for anything. I don't agree that some things should be paid for via internet, but I don't totally disagree with it, if it is of great value. I have been giving away a lot of info for free that people would pay dearly for otherwise.

What is low class is when you risk not paying the bills just to please a few people..when you risk giving lesser in quality content because you have to beg for advertising support. Tim is right...you run a business like a business. If a person values your content, then he/she will pay a small fee for it. If a customer is a good one, then he/she will be loyal to what you have to offer and even pay a little for it. Plus, a membership fee is much better than paying per service/product. I don't have the money to pay it right now, but what I see on this site so far is fine for now.

We buy magazines, we pay for cable, and we pay for satellite to get our entertainment and news. We pay for our computers and internet access to get information and be entertained. We pay for movie tickets and concert tickets. When you value something that strongly, then you pay for it. We pay consultants to give us good advice..but, when you are always seeking the "Free", then you may be putting greater risk on the kind of information and news that you are receiving, unless you are getting it from a well known source. I try to keep up with the videos to avoid getting behind and the video being lost in the pay-for-play area. Myself and a lot of others try our best to be active fans of this site, but we can't pay the membership right now. We contribute to the dialogue and spread the word whenever we can. We were under the impression that we could watch these videos as they came out- as a reward for faithful followers. We watch the mini commercials at the start of your videos and I know that makes you a little money.

I assume that you immediately realized that this video would garner a great deal of interest. You went through the trouble of making teasers to show us what we'll miss if we don't sign up. However, Andrew, this was a kind of low-class move to your faithful followers who will one day become paid followers.

Stick with the long-tail model and you'll have a cult following.
