Was Keith Ferrazzi’s Site Design Inspired By Mixergy???

Posted on Dec 3, 2009 - 10:27 AM PST

(This is from the etc section of Mixergy.)

Keith Ferrazzi him

Mixergy top me

I think you can see the similarities more clearly if you check out KeithFerrazzi.com. Check it out and let me know what you think.

By the way, Keith has been good to me, so I’m not upset. (He included me in his book, and did this Mixergy interview, etc.) Plus, Pallian did an incredible job on the design of Mixergy. I can see why Keith’s designers might be inspired by it.

You might say “inspired by.” Others might say “stolen from.” But hey, you know what they say about mimicry and flattery.

Being copied just proves you're doing something right :-)

  3. Will Says:

Wow, that IS eerily similar – I guess you can take it as a compliment that he's been inspired by the Mixergy design ;)

Wow, I didn't know you interviewed Keith! He's been hugely influential in how I approach relationship-building and making new friends/acquaintances.

I gotta watch his interview! (along with the countless other interviews you've done).

One request, Andrew – could you please slow down or take a week off? I'm struggling to catch up here! ;)

  4. Andrew Warner Says:

Maybe over the holidays I'll take a break. Things are slow then any way. '-)

    haha! Definitely inspired by Mixergy

I distinctly remember seeing this about 2 months back when I visited his site for the first time. At first I was pissed at his audacity. But then I wrote it off figuring you guys just bought the same theme or used the same guy.

When it comes to the topic of competitive replication, I'm always inspired by how Seth handled Knol:

“The nature of the Web…imitation is the highest form of endorsement.”

May not be most people's first reaction, but it's the only one that really works. Congrats, Andrew.

  7. Andrew Warner Says:

Mine is an original theme. His designers were inspired by it. ;-)

I consider him a friend though.
